On June 29, 2023, the first suborbital human flight of the Italian Air Force departed from Las Cruces (New Mexico, USA) on Virgin Galactic's Spaceeship-2 spacecraft aimed at scientific research and experimentation of high-altitude flight on the human body.

The passengers were two Air Force Officers and a CNR engineer, the first ever flight of this kind. Andremacon researchers, participated in the mission for the evaluation of the impact of microgravity and Space environment on early molecular and cellular modifications with an omic- based approach.

Our technology 3D platforms and active molecules library where shared to contribute to the scientific success of the Mission, collecting unique data on drug screening experiments and oxidative stress countermeasures set-up.

Andremacon’s know-how contributed also to the deployment of a fully equipped research lab to bring research facility close to the Space Vehicle recording, as much possible, early molecular change during scientific Space missions. Before, after and during the flight, which lasted approximately seventy-five minutes, the crew conducted various experiments proposed by the Air Force - Aerospace Medicine Department, IMAS Milan, CNR, University of Milan, Fondazione IRCCS Policlinico di Milano, Sapienza University of Rome, Catholic University of Rome, University of Padua, Polytechnic University of Marche, ASST Santi Paolo e Carlo of Milan, Andremacon Biotech and Cardionline Europe. This made it possible to carry out multidisciplinary tests, which would otherwise be difficult to carry out.

The information acquired will provide very useful data for scientific research applicable to various sectors, not only technological, but also in the field of aerospace medicine.
